Coalition Of Asian Pacifics In Entertainment’s Celebrity Poker Tournament has as its propose to raise funds for CAPE programming. It’s not only a great occasion to have fun playing poker, but it also is a chance to support an important cause.

The Coalition of Asian Pacifics is an organization founded by television producer and executive Wenda Fong, publicist Fritz Friedman, and film producer and executive Chris Lee in 1991. The purpose of CAPE is to advance cross-cultural awareness and diversity by educating and promoting Asian Pacific Americans in the entertainment industry. CAPE provides opportunities for both established and emerging talented Asian Pacifics Americans as actors, directors, agents, producers and executives. They offer the tools to excel in the entertainment industry. But this is not the only mission of Coalition Of Asian Pacifics: they aim to create a community where people can support each other not only professionally, but also personally.

CAPE has a lot of examples of success with their mission: we can mention Ang Lee and John Woo who have been introduced to Hollywood. Alice Wu has been launched as writer and director of Saving Face by the CAPE New Writers Awards.
